The Need

  • The group is having problems establishing trust and unity..
  • The staff needs to be able to work together and communicate effectively
  • The board seems to be going in difference directions

The Solution

The Canterbury Challenge Course offers the chance for individuals and groups to discover and develop their FULL POTENTIAL!

Low Course

The low course is a carefully orchestrated set of physical and mental activities and challenges for small groups.  The activities focus on leadership, trust, communication, team-work, problem-solving, cooperation, decision making , motivation and conflict resolution. These activities compel the group to work together to overcome the challenge and therefore build unity.

High Course

After the group has completed the sequence of Low initiatives, they are ready to experience the High course.  This course focuses on the individual's emotional and physical insecurities, helps them set and complete personal goals, and fosters perseverance, risk taking, and motivation.  The group acts as an emotional support for the individual who is climbing the element, putting to use the skills developed on the Low Ropes Course.  All participants are supported in a positive environment and challenged only by choice.  The course is formally inspected annually and maintained after each use to ensure a safe and secure experience for everyone.

Debrief

After each Low or High Initiative, the group engages in a debrief discussion.  This discussion is not a lecture from the facilitator, but an open discussion between group members on teamwork topics relative to the event that has just taken place.  At the end of the day, a summation takes place to help tie everything together.
