At the heart of partnership is a sense of connection. Any community, whether it is civic, academic, marketplace or religious is about people coming together for a common purpose. It is built around the idea of: We are better together. This is at the core of the Christian life. The Greek word where we get the term church means an assembly or even better called out ones.
There comes an invitation to step aside from the routine of daily life and to give yourself with others to a greater good. The mission of Canterbury fosters this every day. People gather around tables to share a meal. They have meetings where they learn new things that will enrich their lives and the communities where they live. When you step onto the Canterbury campus you have an opportunity to attach and connect to something larger and more so eternal.
Reflection: Take stock of the connections that are most important to you. Write them down. What things can you do to strengthen and affirm those partner connections?
