A Catalyst is something that when introduced brings about positive change. It can be a speech, a person, an idea or insight that elevates the level of energy and enthusiasm that makes the organization or group better.
A catalyst moment is the jewel of a good partnership. Partners are often catalysts because the spur one another on to be better and do better.
Like any institution we have formal job descriptions outlining the expectations for a person in a given position. We also have a basic understanding what we are to do everyday: Do It Better!
Whether it is cleaning a room, writing an email, giving a tour, fixing a meal, cutting the grass – whatever the task we are each day to DO IT BETTER! This becomes a catalyst for exciting and productive change.
We want to be catalysts for people who come to Canterbury. When someone comes for an event, a class, a retreat or conference we want them to experience something that will grease the wheels and move them forward to what is next prepared to take on the challenges they face and succeed.
By Doing It Better a spark is created and something is ignited that will transform. By giving to the Canterbury Mission and Becoming a Partner you strike a match that brings about a needed reformation and at times a revolution for lives. You really can make a difference.
Reflection: What has been a Catalyst in your life? How have you been a catalyst for others?
