I am a Child of God.
I am a Daughter of the King.
I am a Deacon in the Episcopal Church since March 23, 1996, and an active member of Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Melbourne.
I am a clergy widow.
I am a Canterbury Partner. I am not rich in any worldly sense, but I am blessed beyond words to live every day in the Light of Christ.
I put aside funds every year to attend the Icon Writing Retreat at Canterbury. The time spent in silence and learning, diligently reproducing the Image of God’s Story before me, is time truly spent in the Presence of God.
I also attend special events and conferences as I am able, simply to spend time apart from the “busy- ness” of the world and to enter fully into the business of sitting at the Feet of the Master. It is these times of retreat and spiritual nourishment that feed and strengthen my spirit!
The physical furnishings are practical, warm and welcoming. The beauty of nature, the opportunities for gathering or solitude, the kindness and attentiveness of the staff and leaders . . . these are the foundation on which is built the experience of each individual guest.
Canterbury is a place of peace and renewal for all who have received from God “an inquiring and discerning heart, the courage to will and to persevere, a spirit to know and to love you, and the gift of joy and wonder in all your works”.
Your Partnership will support this ministry for the Body of Christ in this place. That’s why I am a Canterbury Partner – and I invite you to be one too.
