Guided Meditation Walk
Join us on a weekly for a one hour guided meditation walk that takes you on another journey with God. Led by Kristen of BodyInUnity Yoga, this weekly meditation walk is not about getting somewhere on foot. Instead, you are being with each step, fully here, where you actually are. You are not trying to get anywhere, even to the next step. There is no arriving, other than continually arriving in the present moment.
We will meet Sunday’s approximately 45 minutes before sunset (5:00 pm). Starting with breath-centered mindful movement. Instruction includes pace, focus, breathing & other meditation techniques for the walk. Ending at the chapel for sunset stillness & contemplation.
Meditation has recently received a lot of attention. In a stressful world, it’s no wonder that people are turning to such practices to try and find peace and calm. Research is beginning to uncover the many physical and mental benefits of mindfulness and meditation, but to the Christian, this should come as no surprise. Meditation, especially through prayer, is an important practice referenced throughout the Bible. The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health reports that “Some research suggests that practicing meditation may reduce blood pressure, symptoms of irritable bowel syndrome, anxiety and depression, and insomnia.” Beyond these potential health benefits, many believe that mediation can also deeply strengthen your faith.

A Journey from Chaos to Contemplation: Kristen is first a child of God and a student of the contemplative way. She is a mother and the wife of a retired Army officer. After more than twenty years of experience in the commercial fitness industry, she shifted her energy to health ministry, focusing on posture and mind/body wellness as a way to connect to God & community. She maintains her Personal Training and Group Fitness certifications with the American Council on Exercise, a Yoga Alliance qualified 500hr Experienced Yoga Teacher level education, and FeetUp Yoga Teacher Certification, as well as multiple trainings & years of experience in Mindfulnes & Meditation.
