How many times have you heard that phrase used? We use it so often because it’s true. Together we can accomplish more than our individual efforts combined. That’s what “synergy” is all about.
So for the next 40 days I’m going to invite you on a journey to discover the “power of partnering”.
Here at Canterbury, we use the word “partner” a lot. At times it refers to local ministries, civic groups and people that frequent the Canterbury campus in meetings, conferences and retreats. This year we are being specific in branding a Canterbury Partner as someone who specifically supports the Canterbury Mission financially.
A quick look at some definitions of the term Partner…
Noun: a person who takes part in an undertaking with another or others in some action or endeavor, especially in a business or company with shared risks and profits. Synonyms: colleague, associate, coworker, fellow worker, collaborator, comrade, teammate;
Ultimately a partnership is a joining, a coming together for a common purpose or mission. This is at the core of what we are asking people to do with Canterbury; to become a part of a mission that sees people formed in faith and equipped to serve. We need to be intentional in seeing formation and equipping take place and it often requires the pulling away from the daily routines to hear, learn and grow. Canterbury becomes that sacred space where this happens almost daily. Join us in this mission!
Reflect: Where have you invested as a “partner” in your life? What do you give your time, talent and resources to? Has it been worth it?
